Cinerama to Present Jean-Luc Godard’s Goodbye to Language

On January 12 Seattle Cinerama, the Seattle Art Museum and Northwest Film Forum are proud to present the Seattle exclusive of Goodbye to Language. French new-wave cinema pioneer Jean-Luc Godard’s Goodbye to Language follows a stray dog that wanders from town to country and over the course of time observes a married woman and a single man as they meet, love, argue and fight. The film gained prestige upon its premiere at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and was awarded the Jury Prize.

Goodbye to Language is Godard’s first foray into 3D technology and examines the nature of cinematic space and time. Cinerama was selected to debut the film in Seattle because of its world-class sight and sound offerings. Cinerama recently underwent a substantial renovation and reopened on November 20 with the first Christie 6P laser projector in a commercial theater. Specifically designed for 3D, the Christie dual-head system delivers both left and right eye images simultaneously to the viewer, reducing the eye strain and fatigue that some people experience when viewing 3D content from a single-head projector.
